Restrictions to Cosmetic Limb Lengthening during the COVID-19 Pandemic

1.We announce that Dr Dimitrios Giotikas will not be offering limb lengthening surgery for cosmetic purposes in the UK during the Covid-19 pandemic for the following reasons:

•  Patient safety: UK is considered a high risk country for Covid-19 after the government’s unsatisfactory response to the pandemic while Greece is one of the countries with the lowest incidence of Covid-19 cases.
• Logistics: Continuing uncertainty about potential travel restrictions and flight cancellations (for both patients and Dr Giotikas) makes the planning and coordination of two practice locations more difficult.
• Marketing:  Greece is one of the safest destinations worldwide to travel and stay these days and this gives added value to our practice in Athens compared to our competition in America, UK, rest of Europe and Asia.

2.Dr Giotikas continues to be offering other treatments and services in his UK practice, including online and face-to-face consultations to cosmetic limb lengthening patients before and after their treatment in Athens, Greece.

3. The re-opening of cosmetic limb lengthening service in the UK will be considered from June 2021 onward.
